Many of the foods we eat every day, like chocolate or onions, are actually poisonous to many animals, including pets. Dr. Steven R. Hansen, director of the ASPCA’s Animal Poison Control Center, gives pet owners a full list of foods, plants, chemicals and drugs that are commonly found in people’s homes that can be deadly. Dr. Hansen, a veterinary toxicologist, does more than just list dangerous items, but he also goes over how to prevent an accidental poisoning and what to do if your dog or cat is exposed to something that makes them sick.
